GORE-TEX® membrane and breathability

This model features a GORE-TEX® membrane that provides full waterproofing while maintaining breathability, effectively protecting the foot from moisture and wind during long hours of activity on snow and ice. The upper material is a highly durable fabric with enhanced abrasion resistance thanks to Dyneema® fibre reinforcement. The combination of these technologies keeps the skin comfortably dry, even in extremely variable weather conditions.

Vibram® Mont sole and BOA® Fit system

The outsole is made of Vibram® Mont rubber, offering grip on hard snow, ice, and rocks, which translates into safety during climbing. Inside, a PU midsole cushions and stabilises the foot on uneven ground. The BOA® Fit system used in The North Face Summit Verto Sa GTX allows precise and quick adjustment of the boot, making it much easier to regulate even when wearing gloves.

Reinforcements and full protective rand

The design includes a full protective rand that increases the boot’s resistance to mechanical damage and protects the upper from sharp rock edges and crampons. The additional Pebax® technology supports structural stiffness, improving stability during steep ascents and technical descents. The high collar effectively protects the ankle and provides support when traversing rocky ridges and exposed sections.
