IN-MOLD construction and shell materials

The helmet shell is made from polycarbonate and polystyrene, ensuring high impact resistance and low product weight. The IN-MOLD construction guarantees a durable bond between the two materials, resulting in excellent kinetic energy absorption. Advantages

PC shell

The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.

Passive ventilation

Permanently integrated into the helmet, the ventilation channels let fresh air in through the openings at the front and let excess heat and moisture out through the rear openings. Thanks to this solution, the goggles do not evaporate and the head is kept comfortable during activity.

Buckle fastening

The chin strap uses a classic buckle fastening. It is easy to use, but fastening and unfastening it can be problematic with winter gloves. It will work well with helmets designed for slightly older children.

Soft ear muffs

Soft ear muffs are a different helmet design with ear muffs that are not overlapped by the helmet shell. They are extremely soft and protect the ears from the cold without interfering with sound reception. They do not, however, provide protection against injuries that may occur in the event of an accident.

EPS inner shell

Under the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer made of polystyrene. It has a varying density and its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident. It provides a good level of safety.

In-mould construction

This construction mainly combines different types of in mould foam of different hardnesses. These layers are closely linked to the outer layer of material, which is much harder. This construction makes the helmet extremely lightweight.

Adjustment of size by means of a dial

A classic adjustment system that allows the helmet to be precisely adjusted to the circumference of the head. Using the rotary knob, the helmet can be easily and quickly increased or decreased in several sizes. The correct fit of the helmet increases safety when riding.

Multidirectional Impact Protection System - A common impact protection system used in helmets. Its purpose is to protect against the rotational movement that occurs during a severe impact. MIPS absorbs the first shock, minimising the risk of brain damage.

360° PURE SOUND

SCOTT brand helmets use the 360° Pure Sound solution, which is based on specially designed earcups made of sound-permeable material. This enables the wearer to hear their surroundings better and locate sound sources more precisely, increasing safety on the slopes.
