Shimano Sustain FJ spinning reel black SA2500FJ (SA2500FJ)

Sustain FJ is a new model in Shimano's Magnumlite reel family, equipped with a lightweight carbon MGL rotor. This rotor features an asymmetrical shape, where the bail arm striker is shifted to the opposite side of the line roller. This allows for very fast mechanism engagement without resistance and additionally increases the reel's operational stiffness. It also enables precise lure control and better bite detection.

The housing and main gear of this model are made from aluminum using HAGANE technology. This is a patented Shimano manufacturing technology that involves cold forging exceptionally strong reel components without the need for any mechanical processing. These parts are much stronger than traditional ones made by die-casting because the metal structure does not undergo significant changes, and its molecules retain higher density.

The combination of a lightweight aluminum HAGANE housing with a lightweight carbon rotor makes the reel very light and much better balanced with light rods. Its interior is equipped with a strong Hagane Gear main gear, supported by a series of patented drive technologies. The smooth operation of this model is ensured by the Micromodule II drive, which includes intermediate gears with microscopic teeth. The drive is supported by SilentDrive technology, which further quiets the reel. This results in very precise and smooth reel operation and supports accurate lure control. 

X-Ship technology provides the reel with the necessary power and translates into better transfer of force from the handle to the drive mechanism. Its application allows the Shimano Sustain FJ to withstand greater loads and minimizes the risk of mechanism jamming under the resistance of a heavier fish.

The reel is equipped with a Cross Carbon drag system, which is extremely precise and quickly dissipates heat from the washers without transferring it to the spool.

X-Protect sealing covers the body and line roller. It is a microscopic labyrinth construction of the external element that protects the reel's interior from water.
