Children's ski helmet Salomon Orka Jr north atlantic (L47304300)

The Salomon Orka Jr north atlantic children's ski helmet has been designed with young skiers in mind, combining a lightweight construction with a high level of protection. This model features In-Mold technology, which integrates a polycarbonate shell with an absorptive EPS foam layer, providing effective cushioning while maintaining a low weight.

Advanced In-Mold Construction

The Salomon Orka Jr helmet uses In-Mold technology, where the polycarbonate shell is permanently bonded with the EPS foam layer. This construction guarantees effective energy dispersion in the event of an impact and enhances head protection while skiing. The use of polycarbonate in the shell significantly increases resistance to mechanical damage, while the EPS foam effectively absorbs forces during a fall.

Comfort and Individual Fit

The Salomon Orka Jr model is equipped with the Custom Dial adjustment system, allowing for precise fitting of the helmet to the child's head using a convenient dial. The removable Soft ear pads provide thermal comfort even during long descents, and the lining can be easily removed. The implemented passive ventilation ensures a constant airflow, translating to an optimal microclimate under the shell.

Safety Standards and Functional Details

The helmet meets rigorous CE-EN1077 and ASTM F 2040 standards, confirming a high level of protection in skiing conditions. The practical buckle ensures quick and secure fastening under the chin, even with gloves on. These solutions, combined with ergonomic construction, make this model perfectly suited to meet the needs of young users on all mountain trails.

Salomon Orka Jr north atlantic children's ski helmet - features:

  • In-Mold construction with a durable bond between the shell and the core;
  • Custom Dial adjustment system for a perfect fit;
  • Soft, removable ear pads for thermal comfort;
  • Passive ventilation providing constant airflow;
  • Meets CE-EN1077 and ASTM F 2040 safety standards;
  • All mountain design for boys and girls.

Advantages

Impact protection
Skiing is classified as a high-risk sport, which means that the greatest possible protection is required during skiing. The helmet offers impact protection, which increases the user[s safety on the slopes.
PC shell
The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.
Passive ventilation
Permanently integrated into the helmet, the ventilation channels let fresh air in through the openings at the front and let excess heat and moisture out through the rear openings. Thanks to this solution, the goggles do not evaporate and the head is kept comfortable during activity.
EN 1077 certification
This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.
Buckle fastening
The chin strap uses a classic buckle fastening. It is easy to use, but fastening and unfastening it can be problematic with winter gloves. It will work well with helmets designed for slightly older children.
Soft ear muffs
Soft ear muffs are a different helmet design with ear muffs that are not overlapped by the helmet shell. They are extremely soft and protect the ears from the cold without interfering with sound reception. They do not, however, provide protection against injuries that may occur in the event of an accident.
EPS inner shell
Under the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer made of polystyrene. It has a varying density and its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident. It provides a good level of safety.
In-mould construction
This construction mainly combines different types of in mould foam of different hardnesses. These layers are closely linked to the outer layer of material, which is much harder. This construction makes the helmet extremely lightweight.
Adjustment of size by means of a dial
A classic adjustment system that allows the helmet to be precisely adjusted to the circumference of the head. Using the rotary knob, the helmet can be easily and quickly increased or decreased in several sizes. The correct fit of the helmet increases safety when riding.
ASTM F2040 certification
This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.
In-Mould
In-mold is a manufacturing method in which the outer shell of the helmet is permanently bonded to a layer of inner protective foam during moulding. This makes the helmet lighter, more durable and better absorbs impacts. The process also provides an aesthetically pleasing finish and increased structural durability.
