Children's ski helmet Salomon Orka bleached aqua (L47259600)

The Salomon Orka Jr children's ski helmet in bleached aqua guarantees a high level of protection at every stage of slope adventures, meeting the strict safety standards CE-EN1077 and ASTM F 2040. This model combines a lightweight In-Mold construction with effective passive ventilation, resulting in comfort and functionality during intense rides.

Lightweight In-Mold Construction

The In-Mold technology used in the Salomon Orka Jr model allows for the combination of a polycarbonate shell with an EPS polystyrene layer, creating a helmet that is low in weight yet high in impact absorption. This solution provides effective head protection for young skiers during potential falls. Carefully selected materials also ensure the durability of the construction regardless of weather conditions.

Salomon Orka Jr children's ski helmet in bleached aqua - features:

  • In-Mold technology providing a lightweight and durable construction;
  • Shell made from polycarbonate and EPS polystyrene layer;
  • Custom Dial adjustment system for individual fit;
  • Soft, detachable ear pads increasing thermal comfort;
  • Removable lining allowing easy hygiene maintenance;
  • Passive ventilation effectively dissipating excess heat;
  • Buckle as a type of fastening for quick attachment;
  • Meets safety standards CE-EN1077 and ASTM F 2040;
  • All-mountain design for versatile skiing;

Advantages

Impact protection
Skiing is classified as a high-risk sport, which means that the greatest possible protection is required during skiing. The helmet offers impact protection, which increases the user[s safety on the slopes.
PC shell
The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.
Passive ventilation
Permanently integrated into the helmet, the ventilation channels let fresh air in through the openings at the front and let excess heat and moisture out through the rear openings. Thanks to this solution, the goggles do not evaporate and the head is kept comfortable during activity.
EN 1077 certification
This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.
Buckle fastening
The chin strap uses a classic buckle fastening. It is easy to use, but fastening and unfastening it can be problematic with winter gloves. It will work well with helmets designed for slightly older children.
Soft ear muffs
Soft ear muffs are a different helmet design with ear muffs that are not overlapped by the helmet shell. They are extremely soft and protect the ears from the cold without interfering with sound reception. They do not, however, provide protection against injuries that may occur in the event of an accident.
EPS inner shell
Under the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer made of polystyrene. It has a varying density and its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident. It provides a good level of safety.
In-mould construction
This construction mainly combines different types of in mould foam of different hardnesses. These layers are closely linked to the outer layer of material, which is much harder. This construction makes the helmet extremely lightweight.
Adjustment of size by means of a dial
A classic adjustment system that allows the helmet to be precisely adjusted to the circumference of the head. Using the rotary knob, the helmet can be easily and quickly increased or decreased in several sizes. The correct fit of the helmet increases safety when riding.
ASTM F2040 certification
This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.
In-Mould
In-mold is a manufacturing method in which the outer shell of the helmet is permanently bonded to a layer of inner protective foam during moulding. This makes the helmet lighter, more durable and better absorbs impacts. The process also provides an aesthetically pleasing finish and increased structural durability.
