Five Ten, now a German manufacturer and originally an American brand founded in California in 1985 by Charles Cole, specializes in manufacturing footwear for mountain biking, climbing and hiking. As of October 2011, the company has become one of the world's best-selling manufacturers of climbing footwear, earning praise from outdoor sports enthusiasts.
In November 2011, the brand was purchased by Adidas for $25 million, greatly expanding its reach and capabilities. Today, Five Ten is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, home of Adidas, and is officially a sub-brand of Adidas Outdoor as of April 2020.

Since its acquisition by Adidas, Five Ten has focused on creating a sustainable apparel line, using ocean plastic and recycled polyester. This move toward sustainable manufacturing underscores the brand's commitment to the environment and providing planet-friendly products.
