MIPS®
Multidirectional Impact Protection System - A common impact protection system used in helmets. Its purpose is to protect against the rotational movement that occurs during a severe impact. MIPS absorbs the first shock, minimising the risk of brain damage.
Deep Internal Channeling
The internal ventilation duct in Giro helmets. It forces fresh, cool air to flow around the head, ensuring the efficiency of the ventilation system.
Wind Tunnel Wentilation
An extremely efficient helmet ventilation system patented by the Giro brand. It consists of a combination of vents in the shell of the helmet with exhaust channels inside. The result is a constant influx of fresh air and routing it around the cyclist's head and pushing stale air outwards.
Roc Loc 5
A helmet adjustment system that allows individual customisation for each wearer. An ergonomic, compact dial takes care of adjusting the retention and vertical positioning of the helmet. This system also allows for a comfortable, asymmetrical adjustment of the contact points.
In-Mould
In-mold is a manufacturing method in which the outer shell of the helmet is permanently bonded to a layer of inner protective foam during moulding. This makes the helmet lighter, more durable and better absorbs impacts. The process also provides an aesthetically pleasing finish and increased structural durability.
