Hydrophobicity
The advanced material used to create this softshell jacket is hydrophobic, meaning it allows water molecules to be repelled, leaving the inside of the jacket dry when it rains.
The DWR coating makes the fabric water repellent, so that water forms droplets on its surface and runs off instead of soaking in. This protects the fabric from getting wet quickly, providing greater comfort in wet conditions, but does not guarantee full water repellency.
