    Ski helmet POC Obex BC MIPS uranium black (10114)

    The ski helmet POC Obex BC MIPS designed for use while skiing protects the head in case of unfortunate events. The 360° fit system provides easy and comfortable adjustment. Adjustable ventilation allows control of dryness inside the helmet during intense skiing.

    Certified ski helmet with a shell made of polycarbonate and ABS ensures safety during falls and impacts. The MIPS system allows the helmet to move within 10-15 mm during impacts to reduce rotational forces acting on the head, and aramid fibers enable better shock absorption by dispersing the impact force across the entire helmet surface.

    The NFC Medical ID chip allows storing the most important data, facilitating rescue operations. The helmet is equipped with a RECCO reflector, which enables locating the skier during a possible avalanche accident.

    Skiing is classified as a high-risk sport, which means that the greatest possible protection is required during skiing. The helmet offers impact protection, which increases the user[s safety on the slopes.
    PC shell
    The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.
    Active ventilation
    The active ventilation system allows the airflow to be individually controlled to suit current needs. Thanks to this solution, excess warm air and moisture will be vented to the outside, without being exposed to excessive cooling.
    Ergonomic design
    The ergonomic shape ensures a high level of comfort when skiing. This helmet design allows undisturbed airflow, which also improves ventilation inside the shell.
    EN 1077 certification
    This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.
    Buckle fastening
    The chin strap uses a classic buckle fastening. It is easy to use, but fastening and unfastening it can be problematic with winter gloves. It will work well with helmets designed for slightly older children.
    ABS shell
    The shell is made of a synthetic polymer that is highly scratch-resistant and characterised by high hardness and strength. It is also characterised by high resistance to deformation.
    EPS inner shell
    Under the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer made of polystyrene. It has a varying density and its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident. It provides a good level of safety.
    ASTM F2040 certification
    This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.
    Technologies
    RECCO®
    A patented safety system for avalanche emergencies. The technology involves placing a transmitter inside clothing or footwear that is compatible with the detector used by rescuers.
    MIPS®
    Multidirectional Impact Protection System - A common impact protection system used in helmets. Its purpose is to protect against the rotational movement that occurs during a severe impact. MIPS absorbs the first shock, minimising the risk of brain damage.
    NFC Medical ID Chip
    It is a technology that improves safety when riding alone in difficult terrain. The medical information stored on the NFC Medical ID twICEme® chip can be easily read, simply by putting a smartphone against it. Both fellow riders and emergency services can quickly access this data.

      if you still have a budget helmet (in my case, a noname one for 200zl) and are wondering whether it makes sense to go for a higher-end one, I definitely recommend taking this step. There are light years between them when it comes to sheer performance or comfort, absolutely no comparison when it comes to intensive, multi-hour activity.

      I think it might not be the perfect choice, because at this price it might be more advantageous to have one with a built-in visor and here it doesn't have one, but whatever you prefer. In this helmet you can feel the emphasis on quality during production. Everything fits super well, it doesn't creak when you try to put pressure on it, you can feel the durability of the materials so I think for parts it will meet the requirements
