    Safety Technologies Mips® and RECCO®

    The POC Obex BC MIPS features Mips® technology, a multi-directional impact protection system that significantly reduces the forces acting on the head during a fall. The built-in RECCO® reflector allows for quick location by rescue services in emergencies. Additionally, the helmet is equipped with NFC Medical ID Chip technology, which enables important medical information of the user to be stored directly in the helmet.

    Material Construction of the Shell and Lining

    The helmet shell is made of high-quality polycarbonate and synthetic ABS polymer, providing optimal rigidity and impact resistance. The internal lining made of EPS polystyrene guarantees effective energy absorption in the event of an impact. The materials used protect the head from injuries while maintaining a low weight of the structure.

    Active Ventilation System and User Comfort

    The active ventilation in the helmet allows for precise regulation of air flow, adapting the microclimate beneath the shell to the intensity of effort.     Skiing is classified as a high-risk sport, which means that the greatest possible protection is required during skiing. The helmet offers impact protection, which increases the user[s safety on the slopes.
    PC shell
    The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.
    Active ventilation
    The active ventilation system allows the airflow to be individually controlled to suit current needs. Thanks to this solution, excess warm air and moisture will be vented to the outside, without being exposed to excessive cooling.
    Ergonomic design
    The ergonomic shape ensures a high level of comfort when skiing. This helmet design allows undisturbed airflow, which also improves ventilation inside the shell.
    EN 1077 certification
    This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.
    Buckle fastening
    The chin strap uses a classic buckle fastening. It is easy to use, but fastening and unfastening it can be problematic with winter gloves. It will work well with helmets designed for slightly older children.
    ABS shell
    The shell is made of a synthetic polymer that is highly scratch-resistant and characterised by high hardness and strength. It is also characterised by high resistance to deformation.
    EPS inner shell
    Under the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer made of polystyrene. It has a varying density and its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident. It provides a good level of safety.
    ASTM F2040 certification
    This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.

    MIPS®

    NFC Medical ID Chip

      if you still have a budget helmet (in my case, a noname one for 200zl) and are wondering whether it makes sense to go for a higher-end one, I definitely recommend taking this step. There are light years between them when it comes to sheer performance or comfort, absolutely no comparison when it comes to intensive, multi-hour activity.

      I think it might not be the perfect choice, because at this price it might be more advantageous to have one with a built-in visor and here it doesn't have one, but whatever you prefer. In this helmet you can feel the emphasis on quality during production. Everything fits super well, it doesn't creak when you try to put pressure on it, you can feel the durability of the materials so I think for parts it will meet the requirements
