They work great in the woods, a little heavy but the sole does the job and holds up well on wet forest trails. Cushioning also a big plus

Completely different hierrk
The older, slightly thinner (in the sole) versions were probably better. The ground felt better. Additionally, I have the impression that the v9 is narrower than the others.
