In the Orbea Orca Aero M31e LTD PWR, the frames were aligned with airflow, cross-sections optimized, transitions smoothed, and many other improvements introduced to significantly reduce air resistance. The vast majority of torsional and lateral loads are transferred through the lower part of the frame, which, thanks to appropriate stiffness, allows power to be directly transferred to the rear wheel. The horizontal top tube and lower chainstays improve airflow, and the single-profile transitions between the head tube, down tube, seat tube, and seatstays reduce turbulence in these areas. The aerodynamic handlebar, stem, and seatpost reduce air resistance around the rear wheel.
