As someone who has been running competitively for years, at the gym I have always used cross-country skis which, due to their mileage, were no longer suitable for running. With my 184 cm and 95 kg the difference in sit and everything else compared to cross-country skiing is comparable to buying my first expensive cross-country ski. Big WOW, the foot sits firmly, nothing wobbles, full support. Importantly they even fit wider feet.
