Salomon Osmo ski helmet white/flash tonic orange (L47618700)

The Salomon Osmo white/flash tonic orange ski helmet utilises technologies that provide effective protection and comfort while skiing in varied all-mountain terrain. The shell construction features polycarbonate and recycled polystyrene, setting a modern standard in eco-responsibility for ski equipment.

Advanced EPS 4D safety technology

The Salomon Osmo incorporates EPS 4D technology, which effectively disperses forces generated during impacts, enhancing head protection. The innovative In-Mold construction integrates the shell with an impact-absorbing layer, allowing for low weight while maintaining high shock resistance. The helmet meets the requirements of CE-EN1077 and ASTM F2040 standards, ensuring compliance with international safety standards.

Construction from recycled materials

The shell is made from polycarbonate and polystyrene, partially sourced from recycling, making this model more environmentally friendly. The combination of these materials provides an optimal balance between durability and lightweight, which is important for all-day activities on the slopes. Salomon's eco-friendly approach underscores the significance of models like the Osmo in modern sports equipment production.

Advantages

Active ventilation
The active ventilation system allows the airflow to be individually controlled to suit current needs. Thanks to this solution, excess warm air and moisture will be vented to the outside, without being exposed to excessive cooling.
Ergonomic design
The ergonomic shape ensures a high level of comfort when skiing. This helmet design allows undisturbed airflow, which also improves ventilation inside the shell.
EN 1077 certification
This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.
Buckle fastening
The chin strap uses a classic buckle fastening. It is easy to use, but fastening and unfastening it can be problematic with winter gloves. It will work well with helmets designed for slightly older children.
Soft ear muffs
Soft ear muffs are a different helmet design with ear muffs that are not overlapped by the helmet shell. They are extremely soft and protect the ears from the cold without interfering with sound reception. They do not, however, provide protection against injuries that may occur in the event of an accident.
Integrated viewfinder
The construction with an integrated visor guarantees a well-fitting visor to the shape of the helmet. In addition, the lens has a much larger surface area than that used in goggles, which increases the field of vision and, thanks to the large space between the visor and the face, corrective goggles can be worn without difficulty.
In-mould construction
This construction mainly combines different types of in mould foam of different hardnesses. These layers are closely linked to the outer layer of material, which is much harder. This construction makes the helmet extremely lightweight.
Adjustment of size by means of a dial
A classic adjustment system that allows the helmet to be precisely adjusted to the circumference of the head. Using the rotary knob, the helmet can be easily and quickly increased or decreased in several sizes. The correct fit of the helmet increases safety when riding.
ASTM F2040 certification
This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.
EPS 4D
A technology used in helmets that is responsible for absorbing shock energy and increasing the level of cushioning.
In-Mould
In-mold is a manufacturing method in which the outer shell of the helmet is permanently bonded to a layer of inner protective foam during moulding. This makes the helmet lighter, more durable and better absorbs impacts. The process also provides an aesthetically pleasing finish and increased structural durability.

    OK

A very well-made helmet. Pleasant to the touch. It also appears to be well insulated. Unfortunately, like a helmet with a visor, it is not easy to fit to the face. I sent mine back because of the discomfort when the visor is down. Nevertheless, the product itself is worth recommending in the category up to £600. The suggested starting prices without discount codes are greatly exaggerated.
