The midsole features a StickyFoot™ Grip rubber blend that provides excellent grip on pedals. In the forefoot and heel areas, a StickyFoot™ Dura blend is used, which, combined with an aggressive tread pattern, ensures excellent traction and durability when walking in the outdoors.
Lacing system and Velcro®
The shoes are equipped with traditional laces and an additional Velcro® strap that ensures a perfect fit to the foot. This system prevents the laces from accidentally coming undone while riding, which increases safety. The laces are flexible and durable, and the additional Velcro® strap allows for quick and easy adjustment of the shoes while riding.
Inner heel lining made of Sharkskin
The internal heel lining with a Sharkskin fabric cover helps keep the foot in the right place, preventing the heel from slipping out of the shoes. The boots made a very good first impression on me. I mainly ride platforms on a daily basis and I bought these boots with the occasional clipped-in ride in mind. The construction of the front of the shoe is really solid - the stiff toebox feels like it protects the toes well.
On the plus side, the heel counter solution also stands out - a rougher material is used there, which effectively prevents heel slippage and improves foot hold - a great detail and really improves comfort.
This model also gives you the option to ride without blocks - a plug for the mounting hole is included. In theory this allows you to use the shoes on platforms, but in practice I cannot recommend this. The sole is quite hard and has the character of a typical clipper shoe, so it slips on platforms. I tried it and gave up after a few dozen metres - it just didn't feel safe.
