Synthetic filling works everywhere, even when wet. It dries quickly but insulates well even when wet. Slightly heavier than down, but very durable and hypoallergenic. It is also much cheaper than down.

Modern sleeping bags are easy to fold and pack, making them easy to transport or place in a rucksack. Equipped with a convenient cover, they make transport much easier and can be clipped onto a rucksack.
