Men's shoes with a 4-millimeter drop HOKA ONE ONE are a comfortable design that will allow you to train in difficult terrain in conditions comfortable for your feet. A flat tongue with a wedge will protect you from small debris on the trail, preventing chafing, and thanks to the low weight, you will feel light with every step.
The synthetic upper with a two-layer jacquard mesh has been enriched with a Gore-Tex membrane. This makes running comfortable even in unfavorable conditions. This solution provides water protection while allowing excess moisture to be expelled outside. Your feet will remain kept dry, even during rain and after intense activity.
The midsole of the men's Speedgoat 5 GTX shoes is made of EVA foam, which provides excellent cushioning and protects the foot from shocks during running on rough terrain. This reduces the risk of injuries and gives you more power on the trail. Additionally, it wraps the heel for extra support. Under the foot, there is a molded EVA foam insole that is lightweight and durable.
The shoes will perform well in mountainous, demanding terrain thanks to the use of an outsole made of high-quality Vibram Megagrip rubber compound. It is characterized by high abrasion resistance and offers a secure step even on slippery surfaces. Its flexible construction ensures safety during more challenging descents.

The toe cap used at the toes is designed to protect the fingers from the painful effects of striking stones. The toe cap also increases the durability of the footwear.
Lacing
The classic lacing system allows for individual and quite precise adjustment of the upper to the foot. The foot will be held securely and stably in the shoe while running.

Husband pleased with the running comfort. Shoes have great grip, suitable for woodland and rockier trails. They work well on a wider foot. Durable and well made. However, there has been a problem with waterproofing over time.... I think the gore-tex wears out quicker than the rest of the boot.

Revision of assessment
Correction of assessment after prolonged use. With the passage of time/use, the shoe's sole seems to me to have become overly hardened/compacted. The cushioning of the foot has become ( in my opinion ) too weak. I am less satisfied with them at this point. I should add that the mileage of the shoes is not high, I did not wear them :) Mainly forest training, once at a mountain competition ( small distance ) Now I am less eager to reach for them. I do, however, fly in Asics trial shoes.

I took the same size as my hoka speedgoat 4, but these appear to be bigger than the previous models. I had to return them.

This is the 4th pair of Speddgoat 5's I've taken in the last 5 years. I love their comfort due to the cushioning, and the Gore-Tex helps in rainy/rough weather.

Very lightweight shoe, well made in quality. The cushioning and energy return system translates well in the field. The Vibram Megagrip sole is a big plus, as is the membram GTX system. This shoe feels complete. On my foot it fits great. I am mega happy with the purchase/choice of this HOKA Speedgoat 5 GTX model. I sincerely recommend <3
