The modern helmet manufacturing technology, combining a durable outer PC layer with a soft inner EPS material, provides excellent protection and lightness. The safety of young skiers is a priority. The Oakley Mod1 Youth helmet meets the standards ASTM F2040 and CE EN1077, which confirms its reliability and highest quality.

Precise fit to the head is key to safety. The BOA 360° system allows perfect adjustment of the helmet to the child's head. Besides overall fit, better grip also contributes to increased safety. Impact protection

Skiing is classified as a high-risk sport, which means that the greatest possible protection is required during skiing. The helmet offers impact protection, which increases the user[s safety on the slopes.

PC shell

The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.

Passive ventilation

Permanently integrated into the helmet, the ventilation channels let fresh air in through the openings at the front and let excess heat and moisture out through the rear openings. Thanks to this solution, the goggles do not evaporate and the head is kept comfortable during activity.

Fidlock fastener

The chin strap uses a Fidlock type fastener. This is a simple fastener that operates using magnets. Its operation is quick and easy, even with thick ski gloves. It is both strong and durable.

Size adjustment using the BOA® system

This is an advanced helmet adjustment system using thin steel cables that allow the helmet to be adjusted even more precisely to the head. This system provides a quick vertical adjustment, even with one hand. It also prevents the material from rolling off during adjustment.

Soft ear muffs

Soft ear muffs are a different helmet design with ear muffs that are not overlapped by the helmet shell. They are extremely soft and protect the ears from the cold without interfering with sound reception. They do not, however, provide protection against injuries that may occur in the event of an accident.

EPS inner shell

Under the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer made of polystyrene. It has a varying density and its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident. It provides a good level of safety.

This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.
