    The helmet is designed to provide safety and comfort on the slopes. Salomon created the Pioneer Lt Visor helmet, which offers a high level of safety. Under the outer hard yet light shell made of PC is the patented Salomon EPS 4D foam. It is responsible for excellent absorption of energy from lateral and vertical impacts. The Mirage meets European and American safety standards for ski helmets.  

    The Pioneer Lt Visor is a very lightweight model, equipped with an integrated visor. It is a good choice for people who do not want to worry about individually fitting goggles to the helmet, and especially for those who wear prescription glasses. Thanks to the special design and the large space between the helmet and the face, the glasses will not press.

    The integrated visor features a photochromic SIGMA™ lens. It not only offers 100% protection against harmful UV radiation but also allows skiing in virtually any conditions. The filter automatically adjusts the level of tint, making it suitable both for bright sunshine and cloudy days, ensuring comfort for the eyes.

    Comfort while skiing is ensured by the helmet’s very good ventilation. Numerous ventilation channels allow optimal airflow, which can be adjusted, and also provide excess heat dissipation and maintain an even temperature.   

    Advantages

    PC shell
    The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.
    Active ventilation
    The active ventilation system allows the airflow to be individually controlled to suit current needs. Thanks to this solution, excess warm air and moisture will be vented to the outside, without being exposed to excessive cooling.
    EN 1077 certification
    This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.
    Buckle fastening
    The chin strap uses a classic buckle fastening. It is easy to use, but fastening and unfastening it can be problematic with winter gloves. It will work well with helmets designed for slightly older children.
    Soft ear muffs
    Soft ear muffs are a different helmet design with ear muffs that are not overlapped by the helmet shell. They are extremely soft and protect the ears from the cold without interfering with sound reception. They do not, however, provide protection against injuries that may occur in the event of an accident.
    Integrated viewfinder
    The construction with an integrated visor guarantees a well-fitting visor to the shape of the helmet. In addition, the lens has a much larger surface area than that used in goggles, which increases the field of vision and, thanks to the large space between the visor and the face, corrective goggles can be worn without difficulty.
    In-mould construction
    This construction mainly combines different types of in mould foam of different hardnesses. These layers are closely linked to the outer layer of material, which is much harder. This construction makes the helmet extremely lightweight.
    Adjustment of size by means of a dial
    A classic adjustment system that allows the helmet to be precisely adjusted to the circumference of the head. Using the rotary knob, the helmet can be easily and quickly increased or decreased in several sizes. The correct fit of the helmet increases safety when riding.
    ASTM F2040 certification
    This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.

    In-mold is a manufacturing method in which the outer shell of the helmet is permanently bonded to a layer of inner protective foam during moulding. This makes the helmet lighter, more durable and better absorbs impacts. The process also provides an aesthetically pleasing finish and increased structural durability.
