Ski helmet Atomic Backland white (AN5006472)

Atomic Backland ski touring helmet is a modern solution for outdoor enthusiasts, providing protection and comfort during ski touring. It uses high-quality materials such as polycarbonate (PC) and expanded polypropylene (EPP), which guarantee lightness and durability. Thanks to detachable ear pads, the helmet can be adjusted to the individual needs of the user and weather conditions.

Construction and Materials

The Atomic Backland helmet construction incorporates advanced technologies, including Holo Core, which enhances shock absorption capabilities, and AMID, providing additional protection. The adjustable strap with a Fidlock® buckle allows for easy and secure fitting. The 360° Fit System technology enables precise adjustment to the head circumference.

Safety and Certifications

The helmet meets the highest safety standards, such as EN 1077: 2007 CLASS B, ASTM F 2040, CPSC 1203, EN 12492:2012, and EN 1078:2012. It is also equipped with the RECCO® system, which facilitates location in case of an accident. The product also supports sustainable development by using recycled materials.

Ventilation and Comfort

Passive ventilation of the Atomic Backland ski touring helmet ensures proper air circulation, minimizing sweating and increasing comfort, especially during intense effort. The interior of the helmet is made of X-Static® fabric, which is antibacterial and wicks moisture away.

Weight and Ergonomics

The helmet is extremely lightweight, weighing only 350 grams in size S, making it an ideal choice for long days in the mountains. Thanks to its ergonomic shape, it fits perfectly to the head, providing full freedom of movement.

Advantages

PC shell
The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.
Passive ventilation
Permanently integrated into the helmet, the ventilation channels let fresh air in through the openings at the front and let excess heat and moisture out through the rear openings. Thanks to this solution, the goggles do not evaporate and the head is kept comfortable during activity.
Fidlock fastener
The chin strap uses a Fidlock type fastener. This is a simple fastener that operates using magnets. Its operation is quick and easy, even with thick ski gloves. It is both strong and durable.
Hybrid design
The hybrid construction combines the advantages of in mould construction and hardshell construction. Part of the helmet has a hard shell and the rest is covered with lighter foam, making the helmet weigh less.
EN 1077 certification
This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.
Soft ear muffs
Soft ear muffs are a different helmet design with ear muffs that are not overlapped by the helmet shell. They are extremely soft and protect the ears from the cold without interfering with sound reception. They do not, however, provide protection against injuries that may occur in the event of an accident.
EPP inner shell
Underneath the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer of foamed polypropylene, which is highly resilient. Its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident.
ASTM F2040 certification
This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.
360° Fit System
Technology that allows the helmet to fit perfectly to the circumference and shape of the head.
Holo Core
Modern technology used in safety helmets to make them more durable and allow adequate air circulation.
RECCO®
A patented safety system for avalanche emergencies. The technology involves placing a transmitter inside clothing or footwear that is compatible with the detector used by rescuers.
Fidlock®
Magnetic locking systems, characterised by simplicity of use and durability. Modular technology provides the user with a multitude of fastening options.
AMID
Safety system for Atomic brand helmets. Uses dual-density foam for increased impact protection.
X-Static®fabric
X-STATIC® is an advanced technology in which a layer of pure silver (99.9%) is permanently applied to the surface of the textile fibre. This gives the fabrics their natural antibacterial and anti-odor properties, which do not disappear even after repeated washing.
