Very good (better than I expected) stiffness of the weights, mega comfortable contoured metal grip. Very precise mechanism that automatically locks in place when the dumbbell is lifted so that you don't accidentally drop the plates during exercise. Lifting as well as putting down quite secure, but this should be done as vertically as possible. The durability remains to be seen, but the workmanship seems to be sensational.
