Tourist and trekking clothing at Sportano
At Sportano, you can find top-quality tourist and trekking clothing from global brands, valued by mountain enthusiasts all over the world.
What should you look out for when buying mountain and trekking clothing?
Regardless of the time of year you go to the mountains, choose thermoactive underwear, preferably with the addition of Merino wool. Its presence in outdoor clothing is not only about comfort, but above all about great thermal insulation, excellent moisture wicking and protection against unpleasant odors. The special properties of New Zealand merino wool ensure comfort on hot days and help to keep you warm in extremely cold conditions.
When choosing a jacket for hiking or trekking, go for a functional model with a GORE-TEX® membrane. This technology is windproof, waterproof and highly breathable, keeping you dry and comfortable during strenuous physical activity. When buying a jacket for the mountains and trekking, pay attention to the possibility of adjusting the hood, cuffs and hem (for a better fit), zippered underarm vents and waterproof zippers.
Trekking is long hikes at high altitudes, where the weather can change dynamically, so choose mountain pants that will provide you with full comfort and freedom of movement in all conditions. The best pants are those with softshell panels, consisting of a thermal and windproof layer, and at the same time they are breathable and do not restrict movement. A good choice would be a model with detachable legs, which allows you to quickly adjust trekking pants to your needs and the weather conditions (better air permeability or good heat insulation).
At Sportano, we have multifunctional Buff scarves made from recycled materials that can be worn in many ways - as a hat, scarf or neck warmer. Depending on the season, you can choose a thinner model for summer trips that will protect you from harmful UV radiation or a thicker option with merino wool, which is indispensable in windy and cold weather.
What mountain and trekking clothes should I choose for the season?
For spring trips to the mountains, you will need waterproof hiking pants, a jacket and fleece, gloves and socks with merino wool, and a multifunctional Buff scarf. It is also worth considering rainwear, which will protect you from changing weather conditions, keeping you dry and warm while hiking.
Red Wierchy in the autumn and Śnieżka in winter? In the colder seasons, remember to wear water-repellent and heat-insulating hiking clothes, such as hardshell jackets, fleeces and thermal underwear.
In summer, the high temperatures can make it significantly more difficult to climb the next mountain, so make sure to include breathable hiking clothes designed for this season, as well as a hat and sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun.
The perfect clothes for the mountains and trails in winter
For a winter trip to the mountains, you should dress in layers. Choose thermo-insulating underwear as a base - a long-sleeved T-shirt, gaiters and socks with the addition of Merino wool, which retains heat perfectly.
Further layers of clothing for winter mountain trips include a fleece and a jacket. In low temperatures, both a down jacket and a slightly more robust hardshell, which effectively protects against the wind and keeps you warm thanks to microporous membrane technology, will work well. In addition to softshell or membrane pants, mountain enthusiasts can wear an additional insulating layer in the form of a padded skirt.
In winter, don't forget a hat with a fleece band or a multifunctional scarf to protect you from the cold (you can use it as a scarf or hat) and gloves - fleece or softshell.
Mountaineering and trekking clothing for spring
Functional clothing is perfect for conquering mountain peaks in spring, i.e. thermoactive underwear and fleece, preferably with an admixture of thermo-regulating wool. A membrane jacket, which ensures adequate air circulation, is a great outer layer.
In spring, you should also not forget a scarf (it can be used as a hat or headband) and rain capes that can be attached to your legs, which will keep your feet dry even in the worst weather.
Mountain and summer hiking clothes
Start putting together your summer trekking or light climbing outfit with a trekking shirt and trousers with detachable legs, 2-in-1. In just a few steps, you can change the long windproof trousers for short, airy trekking shorts. For cooler moments, include a light fleece, and in case of rain, pack a rainproof membrane jacket with a DWR layer (durable water repellent) in your backpack (raindrops will roll off the material). Also, get quick-drying socks with antibacterial properties to inhibit the growth of odour-causing microbes.
When spending several hours in the sun, you will need trekking sunglasses, a baseball cap or a multifunctional Buff scarf.
Mountain clothing for the fall season
The base layer of your autumnal mountain outfit should be thermoactive clothing. Add a fleece, a water-repellent softshell or hardshell jacket, a hat and gloves. Trekking sweatshirts are also a great choice due to their versatility – they are light, breathable and provide adequate thermal insulation at the same time. Ideal for colder days, they adapt to changing weather conditions, offering comfort and protection from the wind. In autumn, you can also wear a touring jacket and membrane pants, and if you are trekking through wetlands, include gaiters in your equipment.
