IMS
Internal Midsole System - A unique sole construction used in AKU footwear. In such footwear, the foot rests on an anatomically formed midsole without having contact with a hard sole. The insole has a cushioning effect and supports the foot and prevents it from shifting while walking.
OrthoLite® Hybrid
OrthoLite® foam, which has less impact on the environment. Its formula combines 5% recycled rubber and 15% foam from production waste. OrthoLite® Hybrid was therefore created from 20% environmentally friendly materials, but retains excellent cushioning properties and uncompromised performance.
Vibram Traction Lug
An innovative concept from Vibram. Focuses on increasing the grip of the sole of outdoor shoes, leading to improved stability, easier acceleration and stopping. It is based on the special shape of the tabs in the sole.
Vibram® Megagrip
A sole with excellent grip, designed for use in both dry and wet terrain. The sole is highly durable and suitable for trekking, as well as hiking and travel throughout the season.
Elica
Elica is a comprehensive solution consisting of a mould, a fitting insole, a midsole and a tread. This system adapts perfectly to the anatomical shape of the sole of the foot and takes into account the natural inclination of both the heel and forefoot.
AKU Dual Fit System
The DFS lacing system is a technical innovation developed by AKU, ensuring an individual and precise fit. The comfort lacing system for the approach guarantees optimum comfort. Combined with a precise lacing system for climbing, the foot is perfectly wrapped, offering maximum support when climbing or walking on stones.
