The origins of the Japanese brand Yonex date back to 1946, but its founder Minoru Yoneyama didn't start producing badminton rackets until nine years later. Since then, the company has grown steadily, so that today it ranks among the world's leading manufacturers of equipment (darts, tennis racquets, strings) and footwear for racquet sports such as tennis and badminton.
In 1992, the brand brought the iconic “Isometric 500” badminton racquet model to the world, and over the following years also developed the innovative ISOMETRIC technology, which is responsible for maintaining proper racquet motion control during play, and the Power Cushion™ system, which actively absorbs the energy of each impact.
Today, Yonex is the leading brand in the world of racquet sports, and its products are used by the most notable athletes such as Naomi Osaka, Steve Johnson, Angelique Kerber, as well as the acclaimed Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz. Interestingly, during the badminton competition at the 2004 Athens Olympics, all medalists used Yonex products.
In addition, the brand is a major sponsor of global sports tournaments and an official partner of the World Badminton Federation, which is responsible for organizing world championships.
