Trekking shoes should be durable, have good cushioning, and provide foot support, which translates into a safe and comfortable walk in difficult terrain. Salewa Wildfire Edge GTX is an innovative shoe model created for demanding men who need versatility and protection against adverse weather conditions.

The shoes combine microfiber with 1.6 mm suede leather, resulting in a comfortable and durable upper. Protection against rain and groundwater is also considered here, provided by the lightweight GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane. It reduces the risk of getting wet while ensuring proper breathability. The foot will stay dry even during very demanding hikes on warm days.  

The upper is additionally covered with Exa Shell mesh, which increases the durability of the construction and prevents leather abrasion. This reinforcement works with the SALEWA 3F system, resulting in optimal foot wrapping, flexibility, support, and increased torsional resistance.

The Wildfire Edge GTX shoes stand out primarily for their ability to quickly switch to a climbing model. This is done using the Salewa Switchfit system, which, by pulling the lace at the back, lifts the foot in the toe box and connects the toes more tightly, as in climbing shoes. After finishing the ascent, simply loosen the laces, widening the toe box, which ensures comfort during further hiking.

It is also worth paying attention to the outer sole, which largely determines safe movement on various surfaces. Pomoca Speed MTN is a durable rubber compound with stickiness that provides high friction on smooth rocks and slabs. The S-Path zone promotes a more natural and smoother foot roll during dynamic movement at a fast pace.  

All of this together makes this model extremely versatile and agile, allowing for a quick transition from hiking mode to climbing mode.
