The history of the Diadora brand dates back to 1948, when a real workshop began in Caerano di San Marco, Italy, where the best hiking and work boots on the market were handmade . Production of sports shoes, in which the company now leads the world, began in 1971. The 1970s saw the development of professional sports and a new concept of sports marketing, which led to the decision to hire attractive champions of various sports as brand ambassadors. These included tennis player Björn Rune Borg, Formula One driver Ayrton Senna, racing motorcyclist Marco Lucchinelli, athlete Giuseppe Gentile, cyclist Marco Aurelio Fontana and soccer players Roberto Baggio and Francesco Totti. In 2004, Diadora created Hidden Power technology (fast-drying fibers), one of the first base layer lines on the market.
The Italian brand is committed to family traditions, sustainability and eco-friendly measures, for example: the box of the Heritage line is made from paper obtained from excess seaweed harvested from the marine environment, while shoppers made from 100% recycled paper with water-colored prints are available in Diadora stores.
