Salomon MTN Lab evening haze/grey violet ski helmet (L47612200)

The Salomon MTN Lab ski helmet in evening haze/grey violet offers effective protection and comfort during all mountain descents. The carefully designed model utilises advanced technologies that enhance safety and convenience in various mountain conditions.

Protective technologies: EPS 4D and In-Mold

The safety of the Salomon MTN Lab model is ensured by a combination of EPS 4D polystyrene foam and In-Mold construction, providing advanced impact force absorption. Thanks to the polycarbonate (PC) shell, the helmet gains lightness and resistance to mechanical damage. The application of these solutions allows for effective head protection, confirmed by numerous safety certifications: CE-EN1077, ASTM F 2040, and CE EN 12492.

Advanced ventilation and user comfort

The passive Airflow System ventilation in the Salomon MTN Lab model ensures efficient air circulation during intense exertion on the slope. The EPS foam lining works in conjunction with AdvancedSkin ActiveDry technology, effectively wicking moisture away and ensuring a feeling of dryness even during prolonged activity. Additional features such as ear pads, a headlamp attachment, and a summer insert increase the comfort and versatility of the helmet.

Functionality and kit equipment

The Salomon MTN Lab evening haze/grey violet helmet offers a complete set of accessories, including a carrying bag and a headlamp holder for those using the equipment in night or winter conditions. With a removable summer insert, the model performs well in different seasons, enabling use during mountain activities all year round. The thoughtful design and advanced technological solutions make this helmet a versatile choice for demanding users.

Advantages

PC shell
The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.
Passive ventilation
Permanently integrated into the helmet, the ventilation channels let fresh air in through the openings at the front and let excess heat and moisture out through the rear openings. Thanks to this solution, the goggles do not evaporate and the head is kept comfortable during activity.
EN 1077 certification
This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.
EPS inner shell
Under the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer made of polystyrene. It has a varying density and its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident. It provides a good level of safety.
In-mould construction
This construction mainly combines different types of in mould foam of different hardnesses. These layers are closely linked to the outer layer of material, which is much harder. This construction makes the helmet extremely lightweight.
Adjustment of size by means of a dial
A classic adjustment system that allows the helmet to be precisely adjusted to the circumference of the head. Using the rotary knob, the helmet can be easily and quickly increased or decreased in several sizes. The correct fit of the helmet increases safety when riding.
ASTM F2040 certification
This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.
EPS 4D
A technology used in helmets that is responsible for absorbing shock energy and increasing the level of cushioning.
AdvancedSkin ActiveDry
A technical fabric that keeps the skin dry during exercise, allows moisture to escape from the body, does not absorb water and dries quickly.
Airflow System
A system used by the Salomon brand. It provides ventilation for ski goggles, thanks to inlet channels in the upper frame and outlet channels in the lower frame. As a result, fresh air constantly flows through the goggles and moisture is wicked away.
In-Mould
In-mold is a manufacturing method in which the outer shell of the helmet is permanently bonded to a layer of inner protective foam during moulding. This makes the helmet lighter, more durable and better absorbs impacts. The process also provides an aesthetically pleasing finish and increased structural durability.
