I wore them to Giewont in October. The conditions were tough, because at the top there was a lot of snow, it was cold and slippery, and down below you went in just a T-shirt. The boots coped, no chafing. I have a wide foot and they were very comfortable. There is no need to unlace them you put them on and ahoy adventure. Of course, to go with a good merino wool sock and the foot didn't get sweaty or cold. I might add that they still look very nice :)
