Thermo Shield
Thermo Shield is the primary treatment we apply to all our ropes to ensure their renowned EDELRID flexibility. This treatment involves a thermal process that perfectly aligns the core and warp of the ropes. The special heat treatment relaxes and then shrinks the rope fibres. In doing so, it harmonises the sliding properties of the fibres inside the rope, making it flexible and compact. The result is the creation of ropes that do not shrink backwards or harden quickly.
3D LAP COIL
3D LAP COIL technology is an innovative approach to rope winding, eliminating the need to untangle the rope before first use. We have expanded our production facility with a specially designed rope winding machine, which, combined with the clever packaging design of each EDELRID rope, allows you to start climbing immediately. Simply take the rope out of the packaging! The markings on the rope and the detailed description on the packaging further ensure correct use, allowing you to use the rope to its full potential without the problem of twisting or tangling.
