Interesting approach shoes
I prefer low approach shoes with a synthetic upper. I have tested most of the models available on the market. I can't say much about the Tecnice Sulfur yet, because I haven't tested them in the mountains yet, only on ordinary lowland walks. First impression: the shoe is quite spacious, well cushioned, insulates very well from the ground, holds the heel well and provides a fairly natural rolling of the foot, as if it were a trail shoe. Of course, it's a completely different weight category (there are lighter approach shoes) but running uphill in these shoes is pure pleasure. Despite the synthetic upper, it's not super breathable by any means, due to the rather hefty build-up, which I see as a disadvantage. I hope it will be durable as there are a lot of sticky spots and therefore weak points. Made in Vietnam. The sizing is rather normal but I ordered a 45 2/3 and 46 1/2 to try on and the shoes were identical in length and width to the millimetre. I left the 46 1/2 they gave the impression of being bulkier.
We will see how a direct comparison with my favourite out-of-production scarps mescalito KN will turn out (mescalito planet is unfortunately a different material, peeling lining and delicate "eco" foam, la sportiva tx2 evo is a peeling and delicate (thin idrogrip) sole and kayland alpha is a soft and super comfortable sock but with xs trek on the bottom, which does not hold at all in the wet.
