Blizzard Firebird HRC + XCELL 14 DEMO Downhill Skis are an excellent choice for experienced skiers seeking top-quality equipment for race tracks. Designed for advanced and expert skiers, these skis feature a Sandwich 3 Ti Racing Full construction that provides excellent stability and precise handling on the slopes. Thanks to the wooden core, the skis offer exceptional responsiveness and control, making them an ideal choice for demanding skiers.

Construction and Technologies

At the heart of the Blizzard Firebird HRC skis is the Trueblend Woodcore, which ensures balanced flexibility and durability. The Sandwich 3 Ti Racing Full construction enhances the skiing experience by combining a steel laminate with a wooden core. This gives the skis excellent stability at high speeds and precise steering during sharp turns.

Geometry and Turning Radius

The skis’ geometry with dimensions of 121/69/102 and a turning radius of 15 m (at 170 cm length) ensures optimal performance on the slopes. These skis are designed for dynamic skiing on groomed runs, and their full camber guarantees excellent edge grip and agility, which is crucial in competitive skiing.

Bindings and DIN Range

The set is equipped with XCELL 14 DEMO bindings, featuring a DIN range from 4 to 14. This allows precise adjustment to the user’s weight and skill level, ensuring not only safety but also maximum enjoyment of the ride. The bindings are mounted on the FDT Race Plate Pro B, which further enhances power transmission to the skis.

Weight and Purpose

With a weight of only 1770 g, the Blizzard Firebird HRC are among the lighter skis designed for speed enthusiasts on the slopes. Their race-oriented purpose highlights the focus on performance and dedication to skiers aiming for the best results and dynamic skiing.

Trueblend Woodcore
Trueblend Free Woodcore is an innovative core made from three different densities of wood, which have been cleverly combined to give the ski excellent flexibility and a pleasant, stable skiing experience.

Sizes table

Once you have determined your recommended ski size range, now you need to decide if you prefer a longer ski or a shorter ski. In general shorter skis will be easier to maneuver while longer skis will be more stable. Narrower carving skis with smaller turn radiuses and full camber can be skied shorter, while wider all mountain and freeski skis with more rocker can be skied longer. Rockered skis have a shorter contact length with the snow which makes it easier to pivot and steer, however we recommend sizing up skis with a lot of rocker in order to maintain stability.

Below are several reasons to help you make this decision.

GO SHORTER, CLOSER TO YOUR CHIN IF:

    1. You are a beginner-intermediate level skier,

    2. You prefer making shorter/quicker turns,

    3. You are looking for a carving ski.

GO LONGER, CLOSER TO THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD IF:

    1. You are an advanced-expert level skier,

    2. You like skiing fast and making longer turns,

    3. You mostly ski off trial,

    4. You are looking at a ski with a lot of rocker.
