The POC Obex BC MIPS Hedvig Wessel Ed. ski helmet designed for use while skiing protects the head in case of unfortunate events. The 360° fit system ensures easy and comfortable adjustment. Adjustable ventilation allows control of dryness inside the helmet during intense skiing.

The certified ski helmet with a polycarbonate and ABS shell provides safety during falls and impacts. The MIPS system allows the helmet to move within 10-15 mm during impacts to reduce rotational forces acting on the head, and aramid fibers enable better shock absorption by dispersing the impact force across the entire helmet surface.

The NFC Medical ID chip allows storing the most important data, facilitating rescue operations. The helmet is equipped with a RECCO reflector, which enables locating the skier in case of an avalanche accident.

Impact protection

Skiing is classified as a high-risk sport, which means that the greatest possible protection is required during skiing. The helmet offers impact protection, which increases the user[s safety on the slopes.

PC shell

The shell is made of durable polycarbonate. It is a durable and abrasion- and impact-resistant material, characterised by its low weight. It is able to dissipate more impact force than thermoplastic and is relatively cheap to produce, resulting in a more attractive helmet price.

Hard ear muffs

Hard ear muffs are otherwise known as hard-ear construction, i.e. a built-up design of this area. The shell covering the ears provides additional protection against injury and often offers the possibility of attaching a guard. This type of helmet is recommended for people who ride aggressively and fast and plan to compete in competitions.

EN 1077 certification

This is a European safety certificate which certifies that the helmet has passed crash and point tests. The first part of the test determines the maximum force that can act on the helmet during a collision, checking absorption through deformation, while the second tests the strength of the shell during point impacts, such as with a ski pole.

Buckle fastening

The chin strap uses a classic buckle fastening. It is easy to use, but fastening and unfastening it can be problematic with winter gloves. It will work well with helmets designed for slightly older children.

EPS inner shell

Under the outer, impact-resistant shell, there is an inner layer made of polystyrene. It has a varying density and its main function is to absorb the force of impact during an accident. It provides a good level of safety.

ASTM F2040 certification

This is an American safety standard, more stringent than the European CE 1077 ECC standard. The test involves dropping the helmet on three types of impact anvils at different speeds. However, point tests and chin strap tests are omitted. A helmet with this certification ensures safety during a crash.
