The Garmin Instinct Solar model is designed with durability in mind. It will handle all tasks thanks to the chemically strengthened and scratch-resistant Corning® Gorilla® glass and a polymer fiber-reinforced case. The battery, lasting up to 54 days in smartwatch mode and additionally solar rechargeable, won’t let you down when you need it. You can also manage watch functions to extend battery life.  

Navigation in the field is enhanced by support for multiple global satellite navigation systems (GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo) when the GPS signal is insufficient. ABC sensors, such as altimeter, barometric altimeter, barometer, and electronic compass, will help you navigate a new, unknown trail and a 3-axis electronic compass. The TracBack system will help you return to the starting point by plotting a route similar to the original.

The Solar model is equipped with Garmin’s standard training features. The wrist-based heart rate sensor records your data, alerting you to too high or too low heart rate. You can also check your stress level with it. You can choose from many built-in sports profiles to improve your fitness and track your progress. Data such as calories burned, pace, or distance traveled will help set new goals.

The watch will ensure you maintain a balance between exercise and rest. BODY BATTERY™ will indicate the best time for you to exercise and when you should rest. The advanced sleep monitor will check REM phases and overall sleep quality.
